The euphoria over finishing on the podium in both races of Sunday's World Superbike races at Silverstone didn't last long for Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri. Less than a day after spraying champagne for the second time, they were stunned to find out that their Yamaha World Superbike team would disband at the end of the current season.

If i remember correctly Ducati pulled out their factory team at the end of last year, and it seems to be flying, Bayliss is even going over later in the year to test next years bike....
It will be a Yamaha WSBK factory team by stelth....

well, they said they will still be producing YEC parts for the r1 and r6, so i am assuming we'll see a top privateer team handling the brunt of the money issues with "unofficial" factory support in some form or another.
and stan is right, the non-factory duck is flying.

WTF???
Does that make any sense at all? I would expect Yamaha to do so if Honda did but..... you'd think that would hurt sales tremendously imho. Although I guess sales probably can't suck any harder than they already are.
