Proud Owner!!!
Well, I'm now the proud owner of a broken leg. I did it skiing last Friday. I knew it was broke right then, but figured I could get home or at least to the hospital. I did both. First I had to ski down the backside of the Mtn, ride the lift up to the top and then ski down the frontside to get to my car. I have an 85 Toyota Celica with a 5-speed and we are talking about my left leg. Yeah, wasn't fun.
When I got home (90 min later), the wife took me to the hospital where I told the ER I was 90% sure my leg was broken. Went and had pics done and I looked at the X-Rays and told them it was broke, but the said "Nope it is not broken," and they sent me on my way.
Tuesday I went to my Dr. and said I think my leg is broke, he looked at it and said "I don't think it is broke, but you do have an injury that I want to see more of." So I had an MRI done late last night. Early this morning they called stating that I have two fractures and that I have to go see an Ortho Dr. of which I go see tomorrow.
I have been walking on this for 5 days now. I think I'll use crutches today to "maybe" minimize any more damage.
So right now, I'm through with skiing for the year, and unfortunately out for the first part of the riding season as well.

the fibula is a non weight bearing bone, its purpose is for the insertion of muscle, the only real time they worry to much about them is if they involve the ankel joint (Webber type A/B Fracture)
but be cautious of those tibial platue fractures, they can cause all sorts of ACL/PCL injuries, and if you want to ski next season, you might want to take the full ten weeks to ensure you heal well
Take it easy Tim, each day brings you closer to getting better
