Just taking a poll on whether or not people have to add oil to their motors between changes. If so, how much, and how many miles are on your bike?

my 95 had almost 28K on it when it broke a clutch backet and would use maybe a half quart in 2500 miles. After I complete rebuilt it with a 1040 kit and new valves and guides it does not use any oil at all between oil changes and I have put an additional 13k on the new motor
Jim

The last top up on my 96 750R ( has 32500 miles under its' belt) was 100cc after 100 miles. A previous consumption check over 600 miles used 1 litre! I was keeping the oil level at the high mark on the sight when the engine was cold, I am now checking the level with the engine hot. Hope to see an improvement. It still smokes with fairly hard use and the exhaust also gets wet with oil, this is on the inside of the outer part. I just think that the bike can not get away from Yamaha's two stroke past...this thing of mine sometimes smokes as bad as a '73 RD350 I once had. I sold that in1974! It will not leave me alone...

<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... I top up `bout 200 ml every 2000 miles ?

My exup thinks it`s a two-stroke as well ( well eight-stroke !) as I haven`t quite finished setting up the pilots and needles! Still new emulsions have made a VAST improvement ! When I`ve got all the stuff done I`ll post the before and after dyno charts and fuelling to show HOW bad it was !

.p.
