Because its a grey import the dealer has no information on the R model so its down to guess work.

<...

I'm on the same road as you orionburn! i did a deal with a car body company and four months later i've only got half the panels back, just waiting for the two large lower panels to come back. Trouble is i would have cut my losses and took them elsewhere but the company is one of my most important co...

rattling noise
I had a very similar problem last year. My local mechanic told me it was the exup valve, but after closer examination found it to be the exhaust manifold blowing! nipped up the nuts and hey presto.... no rattle. A way of checking if its blowing is to feel for the blow with your hand........ but do i...

Hum...... you may be onto something there Jim. I hadn't given that a thought, and come to think of it i pulled the cluch lever in today and crossed my mind that it was a little on the stiff side. I'm fairley new to riding bikes on the road (always been off road/no licence until recently) so i'm not ...

clutch stall
Just had a look jim and there is no evident side play in the lever. I keep coming to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe when the springs are cold, they are smaller with less force. When the spings are warmer, they are longer with more force. Hense, when the motor is cold it would slip until the o...

The guy in the shop told me that with certain oils it can be a problem, so he recomended the correct oil. Can't remember if it was part or fully synthetic.......but the proble...

just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why my 400 exup stalls when you dip the clutch at the first junction after starting from cold? It a real pain and you always feel a bit of a plonker. The other problem is that the clutch slips for about 10 mins after starting from cold. Iv'e found that if...
