Re: A great Fathers Day ride
Jim,
Great to see such a large group enjoying a beautiful day! All the local riders here run around a glorified go-kart track on private land. Keeps the fuzz control down on the highways, but more than 5 bikes on a ride is unheard of. I usually ride with 3 others at best. Thanks for the post.
...

Re: cornering tips needed from experienced riders !
Not to be an offensive snob, but you guys need to see that the question posted here wasn't how to max out the ability of an old, heavy and powerful liter bike. Trail braking is for advanced to expert riders. Modifying your already competent bike is for someone who has mastered the one they have. Twi...

Re: cornering tips needed from experienced riders !
I like the input that you are getting from everyone here. Now for my 2-bits. I disagree that the fzr1k isn't a canyon carver, a properly set-up fzr can run a very high tempo in the twisties at a comfortable input level. A stock suspended bike pretty much blows, but will still scoot right along. When...

Re: pilot powers
Official feedback now. Just ran about 300 mile day on mine and can make some better judgements. Front end feel is awesome, turn in fast and precise, rear tire grip is very consistent with good crossed up wheel off the ground drive out of corners. ChuckD noticed before me, but these tires don't get h...

Re: pilot powers
I to just had a set mounted. Best front tire I have ever felt, and that's only after one shake down run. Steering effort just went to as nuetral as it gets and man do these things turn in! I instantly noticed the soft compliant nature of the silica/rubber compound, very forgiving over the bumps.
...

Re: tank bags
One tidbit to think of during design, why not expand in a dimension other than verticle? I don't use an expandable bag because of the line of fire from the fairng will tear your head off and decrease the enjoyment of the ride. I think that I will look at this Neslon bag as a possible replacement for...
FCR rideability
Hey Hooligan,

I have had the opportunity to ride Matt's cb1100f with his stock carbs and his fcr carbs and I have to say that the fcr's were simply amazing. The only warning I got from Matt was to avoid whacking the throttle open at low revs. I followed this advice and found the carbs to be v...

Re: jetting
I totally agree with the Flyingcircus! I have a 1040 kit with a K&N filter+race can, hve run the bike from sea level to 10,000 feet. Stock jetting is spot on. I have run every combination up thru 127 in all four carbs and have found stock jets with the second needle position my best set-up. The huge...

Re: Overheating
Wish I could say more, but my bike is great on the open road and absolutely blows in town. I have run the oil cooler system as well as the water-cooled oil jacket system with similar results..HOT.. I have thought of running engine ice, but that s%!$ is expensive and I can choose to not ride in town,...

Swingarm pivot stand
Heys guys,
I picked up a stand out of Australia by "Anderson Stands" for about $150 usd including the shipping. This stand locks in on the swingarm pivot and can be used to work on either the front or the back of the bike. You just need to tie down the rear of the bike to raise the front. This is...

These are the tubes that the needle is centered within. The area of fuel atomization. Changing needle height has its effect within the emulsion tube first.

forgot one thing
Do the headlights go out when you thumb the switch? If so I would definatley go with the starter switch or maybe even the 3 plugs over the top of the coils, those plugs burn out and short as well.
Again, good luck.
Corey

I would guess one of two things. The starter button has shorted out and melted. This is what mine did the only time I ever used my bike to get some trim.(thanks chuck for the use of teh 4runner)<!...

in tank sensor
You mentioned changing the petcock, but not the intank sensor. This is rarely working in the fzr family. I have tried replacing everything like yourself, but the only thing that helps is the intank sensor replacement. If that is what you replaced and not the petcock than I have no ideas for you, goo...

The exup may be out of adjustment, which could cause some odd backpressure issues at idle. Just an idea but how what is the condition of the pilot jets?
