Not getting fuel from float bowl to cylinder, that's the real issue. So you've tried priming it, and it starts that way? (for a few seconds) I had an 88 FZR1000 that wouldn't start unless you pointed a torpedo heater at the motor for about a half an hour before you tried to start it... Turne...

Chicagoland events this weekend?
Anyone know of any motorcycle related events in the Chicagoland area this weekend? The reason I ask is that I was headed south on I-355 earlier today when I noticed 4 or 5 sportbikes headed north that were being followed by a couple of motorcycle cops.... I thought, wow they are sure watching them c...

Barney, Glad to hear you came out of it ok! :banana But, how do you T-Bone a car at 35-40 mph and walk away from it? I'd like to know your secret! I remember hitting a Ford Taurus with my wife's brand spanking new Toyota Corolla at about 35 mph. Got punched in the face with an airbag, and totalled t...

Dereku, I didn't know anywhere to post avi's so I put it on Megauploads.com. Upper right hand portion of the page it says "Please enter XXX here" then there is a box right next to it. XXX is whatever code they put there. In my case it was NRF. I just typed NRF into the box and clicked on the downloa...

Take a pic to prove it!
My best friend Jim, and his dog Bumper on my sons 500 Interceptor right after I got it running. Video ok? It's a crappy cell phone video, but it is proof.

You know, I try to be respectful of others.... and, I expect others to do the same. I also expect friends/aquaintances to have at least a small amount of common sense. From the sound of it, I really don't understand how this guy can function in society at all.... Unfortunatly, I also have a temper. ...

Risking his career? So what? Aren't we all risking our various careers if we go down hard? If he was a furniture mover he'd be risking his career, but nobody would care. Interesting point, I agree..... I'm not a helmet Nazi either. However, I do believe that its foolish not to wear one all the time...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I didn't have any choice though. I took the tank off so many times that I ended up breaking the frame mounted petcock. Cost me $50.00 with postage. I still had the problem where it wouldn't flow in the "on" position even with the new petcock. SO, I figured it was the tube...

87 and 88 are not like 89 and up. They are totally manual... There is an "on/off" petcock on the bottom of the tank, and there is the regular petcock out on the frame where the rider can reach it. Two fuel tubes come off of the one on the bottom of the tank. One is Normal, the other is reserve. Swit...

I still ride on the hot days, but it's not as much fun... But, once the sun goes down, it makes for some GREAT night riding :D Just got to watch out for the deer. I was in my friends subdivision a couple of nights ago, and a deer came out of this guys front yard as I was riding by. Lucky I was able ...
