Hawaii FZR 92' 1000

Post by FZR DREAMZ »

Aloha all,

Here is the girl, kinda old pics (from about 1 year ago when the paint was still drying), however for the most part it is the same, with just a "tinted" windscreen. Next thing on the menu is a high mount exhaust.

Enjoy!

looks awesome! i like the shade of silver you chose. jjs here on the board has a high mount on one of his bikes, changes the appearance quite a bit.

+1 That is a great color....very sharp ride man! Did you just paint the rear sets or did you get those powder coated?

And welcome to the Hood :hi

"1 That is a great color....very sharp ride man! Did you just paint the rear sets or did you get those powder coated? "

Yep, when I picked the bike up, I took it apart. Had the rims, upper fairing mount, clutch cover, rear sets, bar ends, and other misc pieces powder coated in "Silver Vein". Really hard to see in pictures but the rim is painted or "coated" in black, then they spray silver over the top....some type of process lated, the black "bleeds" through the silver...Pretty Kewl! :cool

Yep, the next thing is the hi mount, been talking with "jj" and he confirmed that a 98-01 hi mount for an R1 should fit with minimal cutting of the mid pipe.

Soon as its on, will put more pics up.

Love the high mount on the Fizzer. Now you need a matching trailer to tow the bike around with the Bug! Nice rides man... :cheers

Run some horsepower #s. Maybe it makes more sense for the FZR to pull the bug (which does look good). :)

Thanks to all,

Too many projects, not enough time to stick to one and get it completed. The mirrors are Carbon Fiber, Lockhart Phillips, can't recall the model # but they were pretty reasonable. I think I paid $60.00 for the pair.

About the color choice.....the bug was painted 1st about 3 years ago, we had left over paint and, sheets of plastic, my garage and a nice Hawaiian day to spray it and this is the outcome. :banana

The bug is not quite finished, still needs misc stuffs, however the estimated horse power for the bug is about 100. Just over twice the amount of that year (1969). But like any other project that gets out of hand, it rides like dog shit. Hard to tell but the front end is about 4 inches off the ground and the seats have been replaced with that of a 92 Honda Prelude....not a whole lot of padding in these seats.

I believe it is from either Halo or UT, it is one of the icons that relates to the level of skill or lack thereof you think you can kill your fellow alien creepy's with.

You could make a decal of the avatar. There are people all over the net that can do it. That would be less than $25.

May have to look into going that route. Sounds much easier that the airbrush way. :cool
