Hello exup folks!!
I originally was a member of exup brotherhood back in 2000 but I started a shop here is Toronto in 2001 and things got busy. I finally have some time to rebuild one of my prized possessions so before I change it all up I thought I would post some pics of what the bike used to look like. I built it back in 2000 as a streetbike after racing it for two years. 169hp on race gas and 350 pounds before converting it to street. After converting it to street unfortunately had to put the starter clutch back in and run pump gas so i lost 10hp and gained 40 pounds. I will share the dynochart from last year when I pulled it out of storage rode it for a week till it snapped second gear into a million pieces so that was all I needed to justify a full frame off resto. I'll post pics as I go through the rebuild for all you fanatics.

yzf 1040 spec
originally built with Cosworth 1040 pistons but now that those are NLA it has Je pistons carrillo rods falicon supercrank owo1 tranny megacycle stg 3 cams wit STOCK valve springs (just gotta keep replacing them otherwise valve float becomes a problem) the head is ported inhouse stock seats with stocks valves and 3 angle valve job again in house on our serdi 3.0 dynoed at the rear wheel in house on our Dynojet 250i dyno. It has 39mm yzf sp flatslides and a huge airbox that is made just down the street by a guy named Mike Walsh raced Ama superbike for 21 years.
I tightened up the squish a little bit last week and bored a fresh cylinder with new rings and new piston/camshaft coatings to reduce friction... I'm hoping to pick up 4-5 hp.
I'll post some more picks of the motor progress tomorrow.

huge airbox
I can ask him if he'll still make them depending on demand....if you can get 4 or 5 orders together I hope I can convince him. This airbox is unbelievably good, fit and finish is perfect and he offered two-- one for a 750 and one for the 750/1000 engine. Price was around $700. I've dynoed them all and owned the other ones as well....the dutchman and the kit yzf sp and neither one worked nearly as well.

Airbox performance
Dyno numbers ...the airbox only added 2 rwhp but it felt insanely quicker past 120 miles an hour compared to the original setup with NO airbox....just v-stacks. I can draft anything with a 160rwhp where as before I could not even stay in the draft on the big straight at Mosport. The jetting was way different from the SP kit airbox which I had originally but I cant remember exact jetting that was like 12 years ago. To be honest the topend is hugely improved from any other airbox I have ever tried on these motors. The ramair effect is exemplified with this piece. Measured top speed with 6 speed sp transmission was 178 mph. I can get to my top speed quicker than a stock busa (2000-2007) never tried racing the new one.
