yzf 750 clutch on fzr 1000

Post by canappa »

I have a complete yzf 750 clutch, since it is far better at the basket construction (and also have a retaining ring) vs the fzr 1000 exup basket, my question is: swapping the basket with all its parts, boss, pressure plate, friction-steel plate, springs, etc, to the fzr primary gear will work? most of the parts are interchangeable, like pressure plate, clutch boss, so it should fit without problem once the fzr primary gear is rivetted insted the yzf 750 ones. how much can the rivetting job cost? well the billet baskets are the definitive solution but having the yzf one for free is better than nothing, the yzf basket price is two time the fzr one.......

When Orient Express did mine, they also put in stronger springs in the backing plate. That is KEY to not breaking the clutch.....
And without seeing the parts in question, I would think it may work.
<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... thanks Jim, look at the part # the only difference are just the basket and the friction-steel plate and springs (dont know if stronger or weaker), I will email orient express or falicon to ask for the riveting service (and backplate spring for sure), also them have stronger fricton plate spring for the yzf clutch, that may help too....

canap

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p072.ezboard.com/bexupbrotherhoo ... canappa at: 2/11/05 2:18 am
