Anyone found an easy way to open the guages? I'm assuming all models are the same but for arguments sake lets say 87 FZR1000 tacho. I really want to avoid prying open the pressed black rim that holds the glass in but it looks like the only way.

My bike is getting the biggest restorarion/general overhaul this winter and call me anal but there is some sort of frosting on the inside of the glass I want to polish out.

[Tim - please insert cool smiley here]

try emailing allan from led gauges...I have been recently working with him to come up with new face plates to replace both of my 90 gauges clusters....I would link the picture here of what he has come up with for me but I need to ask his permission I suspect.

I bet he will offer some help....

But I believe it is best to completely remove the entire cluster...then remove the screws from the back...then I think the whole thing comes apart.

from allan - his contact info is below

Any other questions, please email me -

I too have talked with Allan, seems like a real nice guy and wants to help where he can. His company has some great ideas and concepts. I will be purchasing from him in the near future.

Tim
Dir. of Entertainment (eddieandthecrusiersmc.com).
