In case anyone is looking to upgrade their RAM, I've had some really good luck with the memory I purchased from Ewiz.com.
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=T800UX2GC4
I now have 4 x 1GB sticks running at DDR-II 800 with timings of 4-4-4-8 at stock voltages.

I thought he was talking about my last engine tune-up
2GB for $56.91 is a good deal.

Will this ram work with any computer? Mine has no duel processors or anything special. Just a 2.26 processor and 768 of ram.

Unfortunately it depends completely on the systems design and not so much on age. DDR-II was introduced in April/May of '03 though many systems still weren't using it as late as '05. The best way to chek your systems configuration is to download and run Belarc Advisor which is completely free at Belarc.com.

single 2.26 = ddr 1 99% of the time

I didn't think it would work for me. I can tell all of you out there with slow computers my secret. Buy an external, and put everything of value on it. Then whenever your computer gets bogged down with crap just reformat, leaving everything you care about on the external. It won't help you handle newer programs, but it will keep you surfing a lot faster. My computer has accepted life as a cool filling cabinet that every once in a while writes a document, and spends it's day posing as a jukebox while it surfs the net.

I was diagnosed ADD.
That's maybe got something to do with why it's gone 10pm and I sat down to write exams for class tomorrow 2 hours ago and after watching an episode of American Chopper, writing to friends, catching up on the Brotherhood and drinking 2 pints of Whiskey/Coke I still haven't started.
A boss once told me I was the best man he'd ever met for crisis management but the worst for day to day admin. Reckoned if I wasn't stressed I got nothing done. He was right.
It's like most things in life... you get on with it.
Biggest bummer is never finding that spanner you had in your hand 20 seconds ago and getting to bed sooooo late because you still had to finish those exams whatever time you started them
John
ps. and bum luck for most of you, engineers fit the profile very well

I was quite surprised that it would hold that timing once I populated all four slots.
Now there's a funny correlation going on. Have my system running faster and I notice I've been riding at 6,K a lot more lately as well. Just a coincidence ?
